The Carlos Hilado Memorial State University’s (CHMSU) first University President took his oath today during the University Conversion and Oathtaking Ceremony held on the 3rd Floor of the school’s Green Building.

Dr. Norberto Mangulabnan, who has been CHMSC’s president, was inducted into office as the First University President of CHMSU by Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education, Dr. J. Prospero E. de Vera III in a ceremony attended by faculty, staff, students and members of the school administration.

CHED Regional Director Dr. Raul Alvarez Jr shared the school’s journey to achieve Universityhood along with the reading of CHED en banc resolution by CHED Commissioner, Dr. Aldrin Darilag.

CHMSU was officially declared a state university after the CHED certified its compliance with the requirements for university status with estimated 10,000 students from its four campuses: the Talisay City main campus and satellite campuses in Binalbagan, Alijis and Fortune Towne in Bacolod City.

It offers academic programs under the College of Education, College of Industrial Technology, and School of Arts and Sciences (all in Talisay City), College of Business Management and Accountancy (Fortune Towne), Institute of Information Technology (Alijis), and College of Fisheries and Criminology (Binalbagan).*YCN
