Filipino e-kata player James De Los Santos won his ninth gold for 2021 after ruling the Katana Intercontinental League #2.
The world No. 1 defeated Matias Domont of Switzerland, 27.44-26.32, in the final to win it all.
It was the first time de los Santos scored a 27 in e-kata play.
“That’s a new personal record for me!” de los Santos said yesterday.
He first won a four-man semifinal with a 24.72, beating American Alfredo Bustamante (24.36), British David Brierly (22.26), and Frenchman Remi Bonneau (20.6).
The result came just two days after winning the Sportdata E-Tournament World Series #2.*PNA
