Policemen yesterday recovered about P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy bust operation at Purok Kapawa in Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City.

Nabbed during a buy bust operation, conducted by the BCPO Drug Enforcement Unit, was Sean Navarro, 26, of Purok Kasilingan, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Bacolod City Police Office Director PCol. Thomas Joseph Martir said that the arrest of Navarro yielded more than half a kilo of suspected shabu with a market value of P3,440,800, P3,000 in marked money, and a Yamaha NMax 155 motorcycle.

Another buy bust operation at Purok 1 in Brgy Aguisan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, on March 28, also led to the apprehension of a drug suspect identified by the police as Rex Flor Libertino, a 40-year-old construction worker.

The arrest of Libertino yielded an estimated 2.5 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P17,000, marked money of P500, and a .38 caliber revolver with six ammunition, according to the Himamaylan City police.

The police also accounted for six other drug personalities in separate operations in cities of Bago, Silay and Kabankalan, also in Negros Occidental, on March 27, yielding P120,000 worth of suspected shabu.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Leo Francisco, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded the BCPO and other police units in Negros Occidental, for their successful antidrug campaign.*
