A total of 1,687 students in Negros Occidental were reported by the Department of Social Welfare and Development to have received P5,306,000 million in educational assistance during the second pay out on August 27.
The distribution of educational assistance was held in San Carlos City for the 1st district, Cadiz City for the 2nd district, Silay City for the 3rd district, Bago City for the 4th district, Himamaylan City for the 5th district and Kabankalan City for the 6th district, aside from Bacolod City for its beneficiaries.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Merle Garcia reported that the conduct of second pay out on Aug. 27 was organized and systematic, compared to previous week which was described as “chaotic.”
Garcia said the venue for next payout will be determined based on the number of recipients per local government unit.
A total of P22.7 million in educational assistance were received by 6,264 students in Region 6 during the second pay out on Aug. 27, DSWD regional office records further showed.
The DSWD requires applicants may fill out an online form, scan a QR code, or send an email to dswd.educassistance@gmail.com.
Garcia stressed that only clients who receive a message from DWSD will be prioritized in the payouts.
Those who were able to register for the QR code, but fail to receive a message from DWSD regional office, need not go to the payout site and should instead wait for their schedule, she added.
Garcia stressed that they will not entertain walk-in clients.
The schedule for next cash distribution is on September 3, 10, 17 and 24.*
