E. B. Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon yesterday emphasized the importance of active collaboration between the local government units (LGUs) and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), in order to sustain the peace and order in every city and municipality of the province.

“Establish a strong and active partnership with LGUs, as our goal for peace and order depends on our active collaboration,” Malacon told the men and women in uniform during the flag-raising and awarding ceremonies at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.

“In my almost eight years of public service as mayor, I found that peace and order is a very essential factor in the economic progress and overall development of all local government units. Without peace and order, no business investors will come in, the tourism industry will not recover, residents will be demoralized, and our whole governance will become ineffective and inefficient,” the three-termer Saraviahanon mayor added.

“Thus, there is a great need to actively engage with the men and women in uniform, to collaborate, to work together to secure our community, and to sustain peace and order,” the mayor also stressed.

Malacon further encouraged the police officers to embody the ideals of PNP, such as Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Maka-Kalikasan and Maka-Bansa.

“Continue to stay focused on your job despite the challenges, and to strive for excellence in your profession,” he added.

Malacon, who was the guest of honor and speaker during the flag raising ceremony and awarding rites, also assured PCol. Rainerio De Chavez of his full support, and as well as his continued support to the programs and projects of NOCPPO.

As part of the flag-raising and awarding ceremonies, NOCPPO also awarded its outstanding police officers for March, including four police officers assigned at the E.B. Magalona Police Station.

PMaj. Kenneth Jay Gratones, E.B. Magalona police chief, his deputy, PCapt Markelly Laganipa,

PEMS Jonas Leroy Redoblo and PCpl. Daphne Marie Beldua were conferred with Medalya ng Kagalingan.*
