The Abanse Negrense Sports Programs, spearheaded by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, which has been promoting collaborations with different local government units in the province of Negros Occidental, recently held a 3-day Refresher and Orientation Course for Basketball Coaches, referees, officiating and table officials in Escalante City on April 16 – 18.
The refresher course was led by Throngy Aldaba and Patrick Cañizares. The first part of the course focused on the lecture regarding the updates and the new rules and interpretations in basketball. The second part, on the other hand, was more on practical and conditioning courses.
The collaboration was among Escalante City’s sports programs and activities for the 26th Manlambus Festival. It was organized and facilitated by the Provincial Sports Office, headed by Anthony Carlo Agustin, and Escalante City’s Office of the Youth and Sports Development (OYSD), and the city’s Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation led by Michelle A. Lim and Steven Mellama, respectively.
Meanwhile, a Coaching/Referee Training and Seminar is also set for April 27 – 28 in Kabankalan City.*
