Only one out of 70 public elementary and secondary schools in Bacolod City continues to implement blended learning while the rest have started holding face-to-face classes.
Lilia Baflor-Arro, Bacolod Schools Division information officer and education program supervisor, said Progreso Village National High School at the Arao Relocation Site in Brgy. Vista Alegre continues to implement blended learning due to lack of teachers and additional school buildings.
Arro said they have constructed a four-storey building with 20 classrooms, which they will be turning over to the city after its curing period.
Meanwhile, out of the 69 schools that started implementing face-to-face classes, about 18 are implementing double shifting due to the high number of enrollees, Arro said.
Five out of the 18 are secondary schools and 13 are elementary schools, she said.
The first shift is implemented in the morning while the second shift is held in the afternoon. The important thing is that they comply with the required number of hours for every grade level, Arro said.*
