BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The call for Negros Occidental Vice-Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer to entertain the possibility of running as vice mayor of Bacolod City is no longer possible.

Ferrer said yesterday that the timeframe for him to transfer his voting registration to Bacolod City had already lapsed.

It should be before May 9 this year, Ferrer said, referring to his transfer of voting registration.

“If I will transfer my voting registration, what could be the reason?” he asked, stressing also that he is not aspiring for any position in Bacolod.

If you have plans to run for any position in Bacolod City, the transfer of registration should be one year before the election, Ferrer, who is the president of the United Negros Alliance, said. The filing of Certificates of Candidacy for the May 2022 elections is set on the first week of October this year.*
