PBrig. Gen. Harold Tuzon, a former police chief of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental, has been promoted to the rank of major general, as approved by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. yesterday led the donning of ranks for Tuzon and seven other police generals in a ceremony held at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Prior to his assignment at the Area Police Command Eastern Mindanao, Tuzon also served as Iloilo provincial police director, chief of Police Regional Office 6 directorial staff, aside from being the former police chief of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental from 2000 to 2002.

The approval of the officials’ promotion was delayed due to the evaluation and assessment of all senior officers as part of the internal cleansing to eliminate ranking officials with drug links, according to a statement issued by the PNP.*
