The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency issued a statement condemning the attempt on the life of its agent who was shot and injured on October 5 in Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City.

PDEA Intelligence Officer 1 Jason Yayola, who was riding in a motorcycle, was shot on Tuesday night by two suspects who were riding in gray-colored vehicle, at Purok Cabugwason in Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City.

Although he survived the attempt on his life, Yayola suffered three gunshot wounds. He is now in stable condition, according to PDEA.

The PDEA believes that the shooting of Yayola was related to his job, as he actively involved in the anti-drug campaign in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

PDEA-6 also said that it is coordinating with the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in the investigation of the shooting incident.*
