The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is urging the Bacolod City Police Office through Police director Col. Joseph Thomas Martir, to increase police visibility and crime deterrence in all public and private schools for the safety of students in the city.

The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella said there is a need for the BCPO to increase its police visibility to institute appropriate measures to ensure the safety and security of the children as academic year 2022-2023 has commenced this August 22, and help bring back the people’s trust in our law enforcement agencies.

Meanwhile, the SP also approved resolution requesting Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez to convene the Bacolod City Sports Development Council as per City Ordinance No. 568 series of 2011, or “An ordinance establishing a comprehensive sports development of Bacolod City,” repealing C.O. 85 series of 1993 and C.O. 159 series of 1996.

The resolution was also authored by Puentevella.*
