BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The reward for the arrest of suspects behind the assassination of former Provincial Consultant Mariano Antonio “Marton” Cui has been increased by the provincial government of Negros Occidental from P1.5 million to P 2 million.

The increase in the reward comes after authorities have yet to make a breakthrough in the identification of suspects behind his death.

Cui was assassinated in April 12, 2021. He was hit by long-range shots while about to board his vehicle outside his office at Emerald Arcade on F.C. Ledesma Avenue, Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City.

Any information that would lead to the capture of the person, or individuals behind his death, may be relayed to Atty. Renoir Baldovino, head of the National Bureau of Investigation Bacolod District Office, with contact number at 034-703-2931.*
