The Sacred Heart Seminary-Bacolod celebrated their Araw ng Wika 2022 on August 29.
Sem. Christian John Yanson Perlin, academic life servant leader, officially opened the celebration with the theme, “Filipino at mga Katutubong Wika: Kasangkapan sa Pagtuklas at Paglikha”.
As part of the celebration, contests were held such as dances, races, patintero, sack race, egg catching, fastest in catching a duck, declamation, impromptu speaking, poem reading, hero impersonation, and vocal solo and duets.
The event were attended by the students and educators of the institution, visitors, nuns from the Daughters of Charity, seminary priest formators and special guests who served as judges.
Rev. Fr. Julius Habana, vice president for academic affairs, thanked everyone for making the celebration possible, from visitors, priests, nuns and contest judges, who gave their time and effort in supporting the formation of the future priests of the diocese.
Habana said the activity is “an act of giving importance to our Filipino language and culture because it is our tool for discovery and invention”. “Dahil ito ay ang kasangkapan sa pagtuklas at paglikha,” he added.*
