The University of St. La Salle’s U10 Football Team prevailed as champions in the recently concluded NOPSSCEA Football 10 Under Season 43, held at the UNO-R football field on March 17. According to a press release, the team exhibited exceptional prowess and resolve, earning a succession of noteworthy wins during the tournament.
During the elimination stages, USLS demonstrated their skill with a 4-0 win against Don Bosco Technical School on day 1, followed by a 2-0 victory against St. Scholastica’s Academy on day 2. In the semi-finals, USLS faced Trinity Christian School, where they secured a convincing 3-0 win to pave their way to the finals.
In the final match against St. John’s Institute, both teams displayed immense effort, but it was USLS that rose to the occasion, ultimately prevailing with a score of 2-0, after a closely fought battle. The hard-earned victory led to the USLS team being hailed champions for NOPSSCEA Football Season 43.
The champion team is composed of Derrick Renzo Guyala, William Benedict Cusi, Chrysander Cloud Sia, Dray Timothy Docil, Ethan Avenger Azucena, Christian Seth Puentevella, Gian Mikel Escario, Vito Daniel Hipe, Klein Decena, Anya Pauline Delgado, Ysabel Anara Yasay, Gavin Keiff Maquiling, Enrique Xavier Escario, Gian Matteo Hofileña, Gavin Lorenzo Javellana, Jacobo Isaac Lorilla, Tomas Andres Limas, and Mariano Nathan Elba, who all displayed outstanding teamwork and talent throughout the tournament.
With Noel De Oca as head coach and Rumolo Cabahug as the assistant coach, the team’s success is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and not only celebrates the USLS U10 team’s victory, but also serves as a platform to discover and nurture young talents in the field of football.*
