VMA singers make history with back-to-back NOPSSCEA win

VMA celebrated a momentous milestone as Lift John Demonteverde, Tresha Mae Giavia, and Chris July Bawiin clinched the titles of vocal solo and vocal duet champions, respectively, during the NOPSSCEA competitions for 2023 and 2024, according to a press release from VMA.

It added that the remarkable feat underscores the exceptional talent fostered within the institution.

Dr. Elizabeth Salabas, president of VMA, lauded their remarkable achievements, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to excellence and the conducive learning environment it offers. With historic victories in consecutive years at the prestigious NOPSSCEA competitions for vocal solo and vocal duet champions, VMA cemented its legacy. 

Salabas congratulated Jet Estefani, VMA Cultural Trainor John Demonteverde, Tresha Mae Giavia, Chris July Bawiin, and the entire VMA community for epitomizing exceptional talent and dedication.

VMA’s Poseidon Dance Theater also achieved success in both the hip hop dance and dance sports categories, with special recognition given to Kenny Anlap Grishyl Langruto for winning the modern standard category, and to Renzo Payas and Sabrina Dy Subire for their third runner-up position in the Latin category.*
