Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday signed a deed of usufruct with the Negrosanon Young Leaders’ Institute (NYLI), for a year-long use of office space located at the 2nd floor of the Negros First Cyber Centre Annex Building in Bacolod City, for the establishment of a Youth Safe Space and Innovation Center.

The NYLI was represented by its president, Teodoro Angelo Villanueva and Executive Director, Kevin Gaitan.

The Youth Safe Space and Innovation Center will be used primarily as a dedicated mental and psychological support facility for Negrense youth at risk and youth seeking refuge from sexual abuse and exploitation.

It will also provide a space for the youth to collaborate on projects and initiatives addressing key issues in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, a press release from the Capitol said.

The signing was deed of usufruct was also witnessed by Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, Jade Miraflores, NYLI Technical Manager for Youth Engagement, Joshua Eusebio, Advocacy and Communications Manager, Programs Director Jomar Borromeo, and Stella Mae Sayco, NYLI Executive Secretary.*
