Archie and Elenita Arigorat accepted a copy of the resolution unanimously passed by the city council congratulating their daughter Ellen Joy Arigorat for being awarded Global Changemaker in Health IT, from Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran during the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Wednesday.
The resolution was authored by Councilor Em Ang.
Ellen Joy Arigorat, program director for Nursing Informatics at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, was awarded 2024 Changemaker in Health Awardee during the Healthcare Information Management System Society (HIMSS) Conference 2024 in Orlando, Florida, USA last March.
The award recognizes individuals who lead in the global health care community and those who demonstrate a commitment to harnessing the power of information and technology to positively transform health and healthcare, driving transformational change, leading to improved health outcomes and gaining recognition and respect by their peers.
Born in Bacolod City in 1984, Ellen studied elementary in USLS until her family moved to New Jersey, USA in 1992. Both her parents are from Bacolod City.*
