Ten persons were arrested for illegal cockfighting and illegal fishing in Negros Occidental, Sunday.
Nabbed for illegal cockfighting at Hacienda Pepsi in Brgy. Luna, Cadiz City were Alfredo Castro, Roding Badilla, Jimmy de Leon and Raymond Couserman, who are now in jail.
Recovered from the improvised cockpit arena were two fighting cocks with gaffs.
A similar police operation also resulted in the apprehension of Ranilo Negayo and Cesar Eduloberio in Sitio Molabog, Brgy. Old Poblacion, Escalante City, that yielded two fighting cocks with gaffs and cash bets of P800.
Meanwhile, personnel of the Bantay Dagat intercepted four fishing boats and arrested four fishermen for illegal fishing within the territorial waters of Talisay City, Negros Occidental, also on Sunday.
Nabbed were Andy Melares, Roberto Valencia and Emmanuel Cautivar, all residents of Bacolod City, and Ruben Baldonasa of Silay City.*
