A 32-year-old male from Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City succumbed to leptospirosis, according to reports from the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO).
The CHO also reported three cases of leptospirosis in the city during the period covering January 1 to February 24, or a decrease of 82.4 percent compared to the same period last year which recorded 17 cases and three deaths.
The three cases this year involved two males and a female, coming from barangays Pahanocoy, Felisa and Alijis.
The most common reason for complications and death are possible delay in seeking medical assistance, or denial of leptospirosis infection, CHO reports showed.*
