A minor was reported by the police to have drowned on Saturday at Linaw Bubong in Brgy. San Miguel, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
Initial police investigations showed that the 5-year-old victim and his two other siblings went for a swim at a river, despite the warning from their father not to do so.
As a result, the victim drowned, police said.
Rescuers brought him to a hospital in La Carlota City, where he was reported by the police to have been declared dead on arrival.*
