6 drug arrests yield P489T in shabu

Separate buy bust operations on Wednesday and Thursday in Negros Occidental led to the confiscation of P489,600 worth of suspected shabu from six arrested suspects, as reported by the police.

Policemen recovered yesterday about 55 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P374,000, from three arrested suspects in Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City.

Nabbed were Jade Babaran, 48, the subject of a buy bust operation, Janelle Clyde Babaran, 27, and a 14-year-old, whose identity was withheld by the police.

Jade has been categorized by the police as a High Value Individual in their anti-drug campaign, while Janelle and the minor as Street Level Individual.

Another buy bust operation on Wednesday in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental, also led to the arrest of Ernie James Calleja, and the recovery of an estimated seven grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P47,600, as well as P2,800 in marked money.

Duke Jericho Honrado and Rhads Gidaya were both apprehended by the police in another buy bust operation on April 26 at Yunque St in Brgy. 1 poblacion, La Carlota City.

Their arrests yielded about 10 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P68,000, and its assorted paraphernalia, and P500 in marked money, among other items.

On the other hand, operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested Jomari Gutang in another buy bust operation at JY Perez Street in Brgy. 1 poblacion, Kabankalan City.

The apprehension of Gutang yielded a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine assembly, P100 in marked money and P19,800 boodle money, as well as a cellular phone, police said.*
