The Cadiz City hall has been placed on temporary closure effective yesterday after three of its employees tested positive for Covid-19, Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. said.
Escalante also reported that two members of the Cadiz City Police Station were also infected by the virus.
The results came out after a random swab testing was conducted on 36 City Hall employees and members of the local police.
Escalante said that the five new cases , including the two police officers, are now under isolation at the Cadiz City quarantine facility.
A five-day lockdown of the City Hall was recommended by Escalante, subject to the approval of the City Inter Agency Task Force.
All city government employees will work from home, until further notice, the Cadiz City mayor said, as disinfection of the City Hall is now ongoing.
On the other hand, Mayor Marvin Malacon has ordered the re- imposition of border control at the entrance and exits of EB Magalona poblacion, which took effect March 23, after a meeting with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Health Officer and members of the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Eric Matulac.
“It is our precautionary measure. We will not wait until coronavirus cases will increase again in our town, especially because not everybody has been vaccinated yet,” Malacon said.
The municipal government of Hinobaan also re-established its internal border control located in Brgy. Talacagay barely a week after it was ordered closed down.
The city government of Kabankalan also issued an advisory for requirements to be complied with by inbound travelers, including returning residents, Overseas Filipino Workers and APORs (Authorized Person Outside Residence).
They are required to secure negative RT-PCR test results, 72 hours prior to their arrival, valid identification cards for OFWs, Returning Residents, certificate of employment for APORs, with S-Pass registration and approved travel coordination.*
