The Department of Social Services and Development of Bacolod started the distribution of cash emergency subsidy program of P33.8 million to 5,637 beneficiaries in the city yesterday.
DSSD head Pacita Tero said they will grant a P6,000 cash subsidy to each beneficiary.
The distribution will be held until Friday through different barangays.
Tero said these beneficiaries were already waitlisted and were part of the 9,000 qualified residents they had listed to receive assistance under the Bayanihan Act 2.
Two weeks ago, the DSSD was able to distribute P8.3 million in cash subsidy to 1,392 qualified residents.
Records from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 6 show that 331 beneficiaries are from Brgy. Tangub, 138 – Punta Taytay, 225 – Pahanocoy, 714 – Mansilingan, 316 – Mandalagan, 596 – Handumanan, 228 – Granada, 252 – Villamonte, and 196 from Taculing.
Brgy. Sum-ag also has 708 beneficiaries, Singcang – 833, Bata – 278, Banago – 293, Estefania – 259, Cabug – 80, Montevista – 19, Alangilan – 31, and Alijis with 14.
The remaining beneficiaries are from barangays 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 15, 16 12, 14, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 27, 28, 30, 31, 35, 36, 40 and 41.
Aside from Bacolod City, 10 other areas in the Philippines are also covered by cash assistance program of the government under the Bayanihan Act 2 in the light of the coronavirus-2019 disease pandemic. These areas include Region 3 or Central Luzon with the exception of Aurora province, National Capital Region, Calabarzon, Benguet, Pangasinan, Iloilo, province of Cebu, Davao City, the province of Albay and Zamboanga City.*
