Alba is new PNP spox

P/Col. Roderick Alba is the new spokesperson of the Philippine National Police.

Alba, who formerly served as officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, will replace PBrig. Gen. Rolando Olay, who has been designated by PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar as head of the PNP Directorate for Logistics.

The appointment of Alba as the new PNP spokesman, as approved by Eleazar, will take effect October 1.

Prior to his appointment, Alba, who is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class 1992, used to the deputy director of the PNP Directorate for Information Technology Management System (ITMS).

He also served as the provincial police director of Iloilo and head of the Regional Operation Plans and Division of the Police Regional Office 6 at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

Eleazar earlier designated Maj. Gen. Alex Sampaga as the new director of the PNP Academy (PNPA) following the death of another cadet. Sampaga, who used to be assigned also at NOCPPO in the 1990s, replaces Maj. Gen. Rhoderick Armamento.*
