Two unidentified gunmen shot a businessman dead on April 18 at Sofia Gonzaga Street in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City.
The victim, who was identified by the police as Elson Casalan Cepeda, of East Home 2, Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, was reported by the police to have been declared dead on arrival at a private hospital in Bacolod City.
Cepeda, a 49-year-old businessman, was about to board his vehicle after buying food items from a convenience store, when he was approached by the gunmen and shot several times.
After shooting the victim, the two suspects immediately fled on board a waiting vehicle, heading towards a southerly direction, police investigations further indicated.
The motive for the shooting incident is still being established by the police, as of this time.*
