The Bacolod team will disinfect the city markets that will be closed on Sunday.*

A Bacolod City government employee, who worked at the Libertad Public Market, and had tested positive for COVID-19, died yesterday morning, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said.

An employee of the City Public Affairs and Assistance Division at the Bacolod City Government Center that is currently under lockdown has also tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, the vice mayor said the fatality was a 59-year-old market sweeper from Purok San Roque in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod.

Initial information showed that the street sweeper had massaged a vendor, who appeared to have fever and was suffering from body pains, Familiaran said.

The 59-year-old was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City by his co-employees, he added.

Contact tracing is underway but it is difficult because the patient died, he said.*
