A barangay tanod and two others died, in separate shooting, stabbing and hacking incidents during the weekend in Negros Occidental, police said.
Nilo Payo, a barangay tanod, was found dead yesterday at the seawall of Brgy. 35 in Bacolod City. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, according to the police.
Initial police investigations showed that the victim was fishing along the barangay sea wall when he was shot by still unidentified gunman.
An electrician identified as Roel Barroquiña was also declared dead on arrival at a medical facility, after being stabbed by an unidentified suspect on November 12 in Sitio Pukatod, Brgy. Odiong, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
Police investigations showed that the victim was traversing the area on board his Honda XRM 125 motorcycle when he was confronted and stabbed by his unidentified assailant.
Police said that Mistocles Julian, 49, was found dead at Sitio Bagtingon, Brgy. Asia, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental, also on Nov. 12.
The victim succumbed to multiple hack wounds.*
