Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo led the inauguration of the Monument of Professor Remy A. Presas, a Hinigaranon and known as the “Father of Modern Arnis” at the Hinigaran public plaza in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental on March 4.
Also present were Vice Mayor Mary Grace Arceo, municipal and barangay officials, and modern arnis practitioners coming from 19 countries, including the Philippines.
Presas’ family was represented by Roberto Presas, younger brother of grandmaster Remy Presas, and Ernesto Presas of the Presas Arnis Legacy.*
