Mayor Marvin Malacon and Executive Assistant Matthew Louis Malacon turned over assistance to a family whose newly built house was razed by fire yesterday, in Brgy. Consing, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
The family also lost their eight sacks of palay, one sack of rice, and several appliances to the fire.
The Bureau of Fire and Protection said that the house of couple Ronilo and Christine Joy Eson, 39, was destroyed by the fire.
The couple, both laborers, have three children with ages 2, 4, and 7.
Acting Municipal Fire Marshal SFO3 Marc Stephen Trajeras said no one was injured in the incident that started in the couple’s kitchen.
The Municipal Social Welfare and Development assistance consisted of family food packs, family kitchen, and sleeping kits, was delivered by Malacon and his son, who also gave water, hygiene kit, and food to the family.
Malacon said the municipal government will provide housing materials and will help rebuild the house of the Eson family, with the assistance of the Municipal Engineer’s Office.
Joining them in delivering the assistance were Municipal Engineer Eddie Junsay Jr. and the Mayor’s private secretary Joel Antonio.*
