The provincial government of Negros Occidental is maximizing the deployment of health personnel during the four-day vaccination activity, as recommended by the Provincial Health Office.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang is set to present to him the proposal within this week, for them to finalize the date.

As soon as they are ready, Lacson said he will involve all local inter health zones, especially those areas with high vaccinate rate, to help local government units with low vaccination rate.

Of the 31 LGUs in Negros Occidental, seven have been placed under Alert Level 1 due to high vaccination rate.

As to the strategy to be employed, Lacson said they will discuss if it will include a house-to-house campaign, bringing it to the barangay, or to meet up in a certain area of convergence.

As of May 18, the Department of Health Western Visayas reported that Negros Occidental had already fully-vaccinated 1,061,975 persons.*
