The Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Tech4ed Center was among the winners in the PhilCecNet Pandemic Resilience Award under the “Support for Teachers and Students” category.

The award was received virtually yesterday by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and NOLITC Tech4ED Center manager and vocational school administrator, Ma. Cristina Orbecido, during the KEC15 Closing Webinar streamed live through YouTube.

The national award was given by the Philippine Community eCenter Network Inc., in cooperation with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, to recognize eCenters that continue to deliver ICT-enabled services and government programs despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lacson, in his acceptance speech, lauded the NOLITC Tech4ED for its resilience in providing ICT-enabled services to the public amid the pandemic.

“NOLITC has been an impetus in reshaping our economic landscape by providing relevant education and training to meet the needs of the digital age,” he added.

Among the best practices of NOLITC Tech4ED Center showcased in the competition are its online recruitment, online trainings and free webinars for animation, digital literacy and visual graphics design.

The online training has provided job opportunities to displaced workers and unemployed Negrenses.

Since 2016, NOLITC Tech4ED Center has been reaping national awards for its exemplary performance and contribution to the growth and advancement of the community and the Filipino people through the innovative and highly effective utilization of information and communications technology.*
