Month-long anti-drug operations of the police in Bacolod City led to the neutralization of 46 drug personalities, through their arrests, that yielded more than P7 million worth of illegal drugs.

PLt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office, reported the confiscation of a total of more than a kilo of suspected shabu, taken from 46 apprehended drug personalities, with a market value of P7,111.950, for the period from August 1 to 30.

Of the arrested drug suspects, 33 are engaged in the illegal drug trade while 13 are users, Gabana said.

In the campaign against wanted persons, BCPO accounted for 62 fugitives, 14 of which are included in the list of most wanted persons. Two were arrested for illegal possession of firearms, and six firearms were recovered.

Sixty-six persons were also arrested for illegal gambling, yielding P32,329 in cash bets and assorted illegal gambling paraphernalia.

In a statement, PCol. Joseph Thomas Martir, BCPO director, lauded the operating units and their personnel for doing an excellent job against all forms of criminality.*
