The San Carlos City Sports Office with the San Carlos City United Volleyball Players Association Inc. (SCUPVA) held a two-day Pintaflores Park Volleyball Festival Tournament for local teams on November 12-13, at Bonifacio Square, Public Plaza, in the city.
A total of 27 teams participated in the tournament, comprising 16 teams for the men’s open category and 11 teams for women’s category in matches held at three volleyball courts installed in the playing area.
In both men’s and women’s open categories, the Birhen sa Antipolo Mission Station (BSAMS) of Brgy. Buluangan emerged as champion, going home with P2,000 and trophies.
City Designs B and CT Dawgz settled for first and second runners-up, respectively, in the men’s category, while Yoksports of Sipaway Island and Konchitos were the second and third place winners in the women’s category.
First runners-up received P1,500, while second runners-up, P1,000. All winners received trophies.
Coach Virgilio Noel Reantuco Jr., volleyball coordinator of the City Sports Office, said that the tournament was exclusively conducted for local teams to improve their skills and develop sportsmanship and camaraderie among players.*
