The number of Covid cases involving police personnel and civilian employees in Western Visayas had risen to 183, as of yesterday, compared to 144 a week ago, the Philippine National Police Health Service said.
The PNP Health Service reported 14 new cases yesterday. The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and the Bacolod City Police Office, however, had zero new cases.
NOCPPO ranked third among police units under the supervision of the Police Regional Office 6 and its National Support Units, with the most number of active cases at 28, while BCPO got the lowest number of active cases at four, the report said.
Of the 896 total cases, the PNP Health Service reported that 711 personnel have recovered, 183 still with active infections, and two have died.
Four recoveries were also reported for the Guimaras, Aklan, Iloilo, and Antique police provincial offices.
Of the new cases, seven came from the Antique PPO, four from the National Support Units, two from the Capiz PPO, and one from the PRO6 headquarters in Iloilo.*
