Radiomen dominate NPC elections

Bacolod radio broadcasters dominated this year’s Negros Press Club election with Aquilino “Boy” Ciocon of RPN 8 having been elected as incoming president for the year 2022 to 2023.

Ciocon garnered 48 votes over Eden Aboso of Aksyon Radyo who got 40 votes.

Rey Siason, also of RPN 8 and Meuws Radio, won unopposed for vice president with 63 votes.

Adrian Nemes of SunStar Bacolod garnered 47 votes over Raquel Gariando of DYRL who got 34 votes for the post of secretary.

Henceboy Cestina, who got 57 votes, and Elsie Jolingan, who garnered 54 votes, were elected treasurer and auditor, respectively, unopposed. Both are with RPN 8.

Elected members of the board were Chito Berjit, station manager of ANB Aletheia Netcast; Bryan Morden of Aksyon Radyo, Jonathan “Jun” Gaton of Pasiplat FM Himamaylan and Kabankalan/ DYRL, and Manny Canto of Watchman Daily Journal.

The newly elected officers of the Negros Press Club will assume their post on March 1.*
