Roy Yanson elected chairman of Sugbo transit

BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Roy Yanson was elected chairman of the board and president of Sugbo Transit Express Inc. during its annual stockholders meeting April 30 at Seda Hotel in Bacolod City, lawyer Juan Bernardo Yulo said.

In a press statement he issued, Yanson said that the meeting was attended by stockholders representing 67 percent of the outstanding capital stock of the corporation.

He also said that, aside from Roy, also elected by the shareholders anew as members of the board of directors were siblings Emily Yanson, Maria Lourdes Lopez, and Ricardo Yanson Jr.

In the organizational meeting that followed, the board of directors elected Roy Yanson as chairman of the Board and president, with Ricardo Jr. as vice-president for Maintenance, Maria Lourdes Celina as treasurer and chief financial officer, Emily as corporate secretary, Anna Isabella Galvez as assistant corporate secretary, and Carlo Joaquin Narvasa as VP for Legal.

The press statement also said that the shareholders ratified all acts and transactions of the Board of Directors and management of the corporation under the leadership of Roy Yanson.

It added that the new directors of the company vowed to continue court actions to unravel minority shareholders’ activities and their pretense to act on behalf of the company, despite the absence of any legal basis for them to do so.*
