The Negros Occidental provincial government employees will have salary increases starting July this year, disclosed Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz yesterday.
Diaz said that the provincial government allocated more than P30 million for the salary increases of 3,236 employees, which will cover the months from July to December this year.
Instead of implementing the fourth tranche modified salary, pursuant to Section 5 of the Local Budget Circular No. 149 of the Department of Budget and Management by next year, Diaz said that Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson pushed its implementation starting next month.
He said that the salary increases will be incorporated in the annual budget by next year.
In a statement, the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) thanked the provincial government, under the leadership of Gov. Lacson and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan presided over by Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, for increasing the salaries of Capitol workers.
PACE president Renelo Lastierre said that the salary increases will be “a great help to the Capitol workers.”*
