Senator Robin Padilla and singer/songwriter Ice Seguerra will headline this year’s induction and oathtaking ceremonies for the new officers and members of the Negros Press Club (NPC).
Themed: NPC @ 88: Still the Vanguard of Truth, the event will be held at SMX Convention Center, SM City-Bacolod, 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.
Padilla, chairman of the Senate’s committee on public information and mass media, will induct the new NPC president, Erwin “Ambo” Delilan, columnist of Panay News and correspondent for Rappler.
Tasked to induct other officers is Bacolod City’s Lone District Congressman Greg Gasataya.
They are Nida Buenafe, vice president (Negros Now Daily); Lourd John Diaz, secretary (dyEZ Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod); Nanette Guadalquiver, treasurer (Philippine News Agency); Nona Magbanua, auditor (dyEZ Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod) and Mae Singuay (Panay News), Yves Montecillo (RMN-Bacolod), Rey Siason (dyRL) and Dolly Yasa (Daily Guardian), as directors.
Also, 18 new members from various media outfits (print, broadcast, digital) will also take their oaths to be administered by Delilan.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, Victorias City Mayor and Association of Chiefs Executive (ACE) – Negros President Javier Miguel Benitez and Gasataya as well are also set to deliver their messages.
Seguerra, on the other hand, will provide entertainment after the ceremonies with his astonishing songs via a mini concert.
NPC, at present, is “powered” by 150 members from both legacy and digital/social media.*
