The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod expressed its total support of the School Heads Academy Program of the Department of Education-Region VI.
The resolution authored by Councilor Renecito Novero said the DepEd-Region VI has a program for the establishment of a School Heads Academy. The program is intended to produce qualified teachers for the principal’s test/national qualifying examination for qualified scholars within the 20 schools division offices of Region VI.
It said there are qualified teachers in Bacolod City for the program and they will enroll in state universities in order to prepare them for the principal’s test/national qualifying examination.
Novero said the program is beneficial to teachers and students.
The teachers in Bacolod City who are qualified for the program and who will enroll in state universities will need financial assistance for their tuition fees, he said.
Meanwhile, Councilor Archie Baribar said a virtual committee hearing will be held on Monday on the resolution proposed by Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. appealing to Central Negros Electric Cooperative to account and settle thru refunds to its member-owner-consumers the differential amount caused by the recent extension of the KEPC-SALCON Power Supply Contract and congestion and other charges attributable to the damaged submarine cable of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines.*
