A woman was shot dead by a still unidentified gunman on a motorcycle in Brgy. 2 poblacion, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental Saturday.
The Pontevedra police, who identified the victim as Maelarie Pagunsan, 48, of Purok Perez in the barangay, added that the crime was witnessed by her son, 18.
The gunman fled after the shooting incident on board a blue Sniper Yamaha motorcycle. The victim’s son said he was wearing a black bonnet, a black jacket, black cap, and short pants.
The victim was shot twice and succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head, investigations of the Pontevedra Police Station showed.
P/Capt. Hancel Lumandaz, Pontevedra police chief, said they are looking into personal grudges as among the motives for the killing.*
