Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia led the induction of elected officers of the Women’s Organization for Reforms, Development and Solidarity (WORDS) spearheaded by president Rowena Espiritusanto at the Gonzaga gym Thursday.
WORDS held their election and voted for 12 officers on November 30, 2021.
Together with the mayor are Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Councilors Israel Salanga and Archie Baribar, alongside Grupo Progreso members Em Ang, Cashmere Montalvo, Dr. Chris Sorongon, Marlon Solidum, Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda and Jang Yap, who represented congressional bet Dan Atayde.
The group, with more than 170 women-members from all over Bacolod, also endorsed the reelection bids of Leonardia and Familiaran and Atayde as congressman.
The ceremony centered on the theme, “Apisar Sang Kabudlayan, Kababaehan Magpalapad Para Maagom Ang Dugang Nga Oportunidad.”*
