Dengue cases in Western Visayas have increased to 2,124, as of April 11, with 294 cases recorded in Negros Occidental and 56 in Bacolod City, according to reports of the Department of Health – Western Visayas Center for Health and Development.
It posted an increase of 11 percent, compared to 1,920 cases during the same period last year.
Iloilo province remains on the top spot with highest number of dengue cases at 654, followed by Aklan – 370, Capiz – 300, Negros Occidental – 294, Antique – 180, Iloilo City – 177, Guimaras – 93, and 56 in Bacolod City.
Of the three dengue-related fatalities, two were reported in Iloilo province, and one in Aklan.
DOH WV CHD also recorded an increased attack rate of dengue in provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, and Guimaras, with 24 barangays in Western Visayas having clustering of dengue cases.*
