The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported recording 17 volcanic earthquakes at the Kanlaon volcano on September 20.
Phivolcs said it also noticed a 100-meter tall moderate emission of plume from the volcano crater, drifting in a northwesterly direction.
It also reiterated its reminders that entry into the four-kilometer permanent danger zone is still prohibited, and flying of any aircraft close to the volcano is not allowed.
Phivolcs also warned that steam driven or phreatic eruptions may occur.*
