Three persons yesterday died after being ambushed by still unidentified armed men at Hacienda Villa Lena in Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Two of the victims were identified as Andre Fajardo, 18, and Russel Bucao, 40, who both died on the spot, while Rudy dela Fuente, 51 was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City District Hospital, according to the police.
The lone survivor who suffered multiple injuries, identified as Renante Chiu, 27, is still being treated in the same hospital.
Police investigations show that the four victims were on their way reportedly to a cockpit, on board a white Mazda sedan, when they were waylaid and shot by four suspects who were also on board another vehicle.
The suspects fled to unknown direction after the ambush and the motive of the incident is still being established by the San Carlos City Police Station, as of this time.
Two other victims of shooting incidents on February 19 in Binalbagan and La Carlota City, respectively, were also reported by the police to have died.
The lifeless body of Haidito Boca, 50, was also found by bystanders at his sugarcane farm in Sitio Omot, Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan, on Saturday.
Jelma Boca reported to the Binalbagan police that her husband succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
A farmer identified by the police as Ramonito Mongcal was also declared dead on arrival at a hospital, after he was shot allegedly by Tito Osano on Feb. 19 in at Purok La Plata 2 in Brgy. Don Jorge Araneta, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Mongcal, Osano and Genesis Sarad were having a drinking spreeprior to the shooting incident. Sarad told the police that Osano shot Mongcal while they were on their way home.*
