8 drug suspects nabbed, P400T in shabu seized

Eight drug suspects were arrested by the police in separate buy bust operations on February 1 in Negros Occidental, yielding more than P400,000 worth of suspected shabu, as well as guns and ammunition.

Ma. Chin-Chin Cuadra and Jeffrey Fuentes, categorized by the police as High Value Individuals in the illegal drug trade, are now locked up in jail following their arrests on Wednesday, as a result of a buy bust operation in Sitio Pulo, Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City.

The apprehension of Cuadra and Fuentes yielded about 52 grams of suspected shabu with a street market value of P353,600, and a caliber .45 pistol with a magazines and 15 live ammunition, a report from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office said.

In southern Negros, two other drug suspects identified by the police as Nilo Carbuena and Ramenie Ecogo, were also arrested by the police in another buy bust operation also on Feb. 1 in Sitio Mindangan, Brgy. Orong, Kabankalan City.

The police recovered about four grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P27,200, marked money of P500, a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing five ammunition, and P300 in cash.

Three other drug suspects were collared by the police in separate buy bust operations in Brgys. 1 poblacion and VI, all in Victorias City.

Arrested by the police were Alvin Olvido, Francis Ancurin and Noel Gravino.

Their apprehensions yielded a total of about three grams of suspected shabu with market value of P20,400, police records showed.

On the other hand, the apprehension of Roan Nituda in Brgy. Enclaro, Binalbagan, also yielded P2,500 worth of suspected shabu, the police further said.*
