The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office topped the campaign against wanted persons in Western Visayas last month.
Of the 375 apprehended persons with pending arrest warrants, 142 have been accounted for by NOCPPO, according to regional police spokesperson PLt. Col. Arnel Solis.
It was followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office with 55, Bacolod City Police Office -41, Capiz Police Provincial Office -16, Aklan Police Provincial Office -14, Iloilo City Police Office -7, Guimaras Police Provincial Office -5, while the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit nabbed 14.
Seventy of the 375 arrested fugitives were classified as Most Wanted Persons (MWPs), Solis said.
Of the 70 MWPs, 29 had been arrested by NOCPPO, he added.
PBrig.Gen. Flynn Dongbo, PRO6 director, in a statement issued by the Regional Public Information Office, commended the accomplishments and exemplary performance of the various police units operating in Western Visayas for their continuous effort in accounting for wanted persons.
Dongbo also encouraged them to further strengthen their relationship with various force multiplier and advocacy support groups and barangay officials who will help them in the maintenance of peace and order in local communities.*
