BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Migrant workers from Antique are not required to present negative RT-PCR test results if they are fully vaccinated, or availed of booster shots, disclosed Provincial Inter Agency Task action officer Atty. Rayfrando Diaz yesterday.

About 3,000 migrant workers are arriving in Negros Occidental starting this month, to work in different sugarcane plantations all over the province, following the start of the harvest season and milling operations.

Diaz said that personnel of the Provincial Health Office are monitoring their arrival at the various ports in Bacolod City, as they are expected to be fetched by their respective employers.

He added the migrant workers will be placed under observation for several days at their respective “cuartels.”

“When they are fit for work, they will be allowed to mingle with the rest of the workers,” Diaz added.*
