Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division donated a portion of their subsistence allowance, totaling to P578,000, as assistance to families affected by typhoon Ulysses in Luzon.

Maj. Cenon Pancito, 3ID spokesperson, said yesterday that the amount was turned over recently by MSgt. Reynante Asinas of the 3rd Division Administrative Coordinating Center to Brig. Gen. Marceliano Teofilo, commander of the Joint Task Force National Capital Region, Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Pancito said the subsistence allowance donation will be given to affected families in the central and southern portions of Aurora, northern and southern Quezon, western part of Camarines Norte, and the National Capital Region.

Maj. Gen. Eric Vinoya, 3ID commander, commended troops in Western and Central Visayas for their kindness and continued concern for their fellowmen affected by the typhoon. “In this season of Christmas, may we always be reminded of the true essence of it, by extending a helping hand and a kind heart to those who are in need,” Vinoya said in a statement.*
