The reversion of the quarantine status for Bacolod City to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) will not affect the operation of the Ceres Liner Bus Company, Jade Seballos, Media Relations officer of the Vallacar Transit Inc., said yesterday.
It is “business as usual”, Seballos said, adding that there is no prohibition for them to stop operations from the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board, or any local government units.
The Bacolod City government is set to start implementing its border control operations tomorrow until September 15.
Even during the Timeout Weekend from Aug. 28 to 31 in Bacolod City and its neighboring areas, their operations had remained unhampered, Seballos said.
But she stressed that they will continue to implement the mandated health protocols among the company drivers and conductors and strict implementation of “No Face Shields, No Facial Masks, No Ride policy”.
Under GCQ, public transportation are being required to accommodate only 50 percent of its passenger capacity.
What remains prohibited for them, Seballos said, is to cross the borders to Negros Oriental and Cebu.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, none of the company employees has been retrenched by the management and nobody has been infected by the virus, as of this time, she said.*
