The Negros Occidental COVID-19 positive cases breached the 600-mark yesterday with 12 new cases, the Department of Health (DOH) 6 reported.
Among the 31 towns and cities of Negros Occidental, Bago City has the most number of COVID-19 cases, a Provincial Health Office (PHO) report also showed.
Bacolod, which is not under Negros Occidental, being a highly urbanized city, also had 12 new cases yesterday, while 13 more of its COVID-19 patients have recovered, the DOH 6 reported.
The DOH report said Negros Occidental has the most number of COVID-19 cases in Western Visayas at 604, followed by Iloilo province with 454, Bacolod City – 346, Iloilo City – 261, Capiz – 85, Guimaras – 41, Antique – 29, and Aklan – 19.
Of the 12 new COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental yesterday, Toboso had three, Bago City, Sagay City and Pulupandan – two each, and Hinigaran, Cadiz City, and Kabankalan City – one each, the DOH report showed.
The Provincial Health Office reported that, as of Thursday Bago City had the most number of COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental at 45, followed by Sagay City with 41, Cadiz City – 33, Calatrava – 30, Himamaylan City – 32;
Kabankalan City – 30, San Carlos City – 26, Talisay City – 26, Silay City – 25, Victorias – 25, Escalante City – 23, Sipalay City – 22, Manapla – 20, Binalbagan – 20, Cauayan – 19, Hinoba-an – 19, Hinigaran – 18, Murcia – 18;
La Castellana – 17, EB Magalona – 13, Toboso – 16, La Carlota – 16, Isabela – 16, Moises Padilla – 11, Valladolid – 11, Pulupandan – 9, Pontevedra – 8, Ilog – 6, San Enrique – 4, Candoni – 4, and Salvador Benedicto – 4.
The top five areas where the most number of the Negrense COVID-19 patients came from in the Philippines are Manila at 244, Cebu – 100, Cavite – 26, Rizal – 18, and Bulacan – 15, the PHO report said.
Internationally, the top five are the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with 20, United States – 11, Qatar-11, and Dubai and Singapore with 6 each, it added.*
